I have been performing music throughout the southeastern US for the past 16
years. Performing at festivals, Irish pubs, schools, libraries and churches, I have made my living bringing music to children
and to audiences of all ages. I offer Celtic music, children's and historical music and populr music to audiences
everywhere. Below are presentations that I offer to libraries and community groups. g g g Children's
Music g Storytelling and music
for young children g Employing voice, guitar and harmonica, I offer traditional songs
from our American history and culture and perform them in a fun and energetic way. Hearing classic folk songs like "This
Land Is Your Land" and "Erie Canal", songs that their parents and grandparents are likely familiar with, may
serve as a child's introduction to American folk music. These songs are entertaining to all generations by telling a good
story and through finger play, vocal and rythmic responses and acting out characters, giving everyone an opportunity to become
involved. The interaction between generations that these songs provide is invaluable to both young and old. Selections from
Woody Guthrie, Pete Seeger, "Leadbelly", and others. g Presentation Length
- 45 minutes g g g Celtic Music Storytelling and music for all ages I present Irish and Scottish songs that tell
the story of the Celtic people through history. Songs of family, fun, love, loss, war and emigration are performed with a
respect for the context of their origin. This performance is a celebration of the Celtic spirit. I offer this presentation
alone or with a small band of accompanying musicians, bringing fiddle, mandolin, banjo, tin whistle, Irish flute and bodhran
(Irish drum) into the celebration that then will include traditional tunes such as jigs, reels, hornpipes and aires. Presentation
Length - 60 minutes g g StoryTellers I offer
music and anecdotes from some of the best-loved singer/songwriters in popular and classic music. Included is material from Gordon Lightfoot, Cat Stevens,
Harry Chapin, Jim Croce, John Denver, James Taylor and others. This is a celebration of their work and a tribute to the genre
of singer/songwriting that was so powerful in the 1960’s and 1970’s. Presentation Length - 60 minutes
