Who are the The Fellas?
From Chris Morgan -
"I was booked to play at O'Doherty's Irish Pub for their anniversary weekend back in 2005. I was to play,Cahir O'Doherty was to play and Seamus agus Seamus was to play. Cahir, or Cak, as his friends know him, is one of the best there is. You can read more about this warm, knowledgeable and very gracious performer at Cahir O'Doherty's Homepage.

Anyway, back to the story.........

Seamus agus Seamus were a couple of guys that got together from time to time to play traditional Irish tunes. We're talking about jigs and reels, not ballads and drinking songs. (by the way, "Seamus" is Irish for "Jim" ,so Jim Hull and Seamus Walsh were "Seamus augus (Irish for "and") Seaumus", get it?

Anyway, the plan was for each of us to take turns performing throughout the day. But, after a couple of hours we all ended up on stage together and had a great time. Shortly after that night, I began inviting Seamus agus Seamus out to accompany me at some of my other performances in other venues around the state.
We're quite a hit when we get together.

Shortly before Seamus went off to college in Tallahassee we met Marty Groody,an amazing talent in his own right. Playing whistle, fife, Irish flute and most recently button acordion and tenor banjo, Marty has brought so much diversity and experience into the group. We are truly lucky to have him with us.

Since Marty is not named either James or Seamus, we needed another name for "The Fells" when they joined me. I arrived at The Ir-Regulars while considering the flying collumns of the Irish War for Independence. They were a citizen's militia and, much like our Minutmen and our Sons of Liberty, they were patriots who fought for and were proponents of liberty under tyranny. Our fellas aren't involved in a War for Independence but they can sure help us celebrate their history and culture through the music we share together.
So, for now, it's "The Ir-Regulars" of just "The Fellas" when I can get them together at any of the venues around Florida for a night of great music and fun.
So, that's the story. You can read more about each of them and view some photos in the gallery. Check out the schedule to see when we'll all be performing together.
